Description
The Lebanese Association for Educational Studies (LAES) is a Lebanese non-profit organization. Its aims at:
- Developing and disseminating educational knowledge
- Advancing the educational research community in Lebanon
- Interacting with similar associations in the Arab Countries and the world
LAES currently has 48 members from leading universities in Lebanon, all of whom are active in the field of education in the country and the region. LAES has undertaken a number of studies and projects to date with a significant number dedicated to Quality Assurance (QA) in Higher Education. LAES was responsible for the project that led to the draft law for the establishment of the Lebanese QA agency. LAES, through different projects, has succeeded in increasing awareness about QA. It has published several books on QA in Lebanon and the Arab world.

Role in Project
Quality Assurance in the Lebanese and Arab Higher Education has been largely studied at LAES. LAES, as an independent educational association that knows well the Lebanese Higher Education system, will support the exchange and dialogue within the project. LAES will also represent the regional background to the development to be conducted in the project. LAES will actively participate in the definition of the standards and in the development of training materials.
