Description

The University of Alicante (UA) was founded in 1979. Being one of the youngest universities in Spain, UA is also considered to be one of the most innovative and fastest-developing. More than 30,000 regular and 3,000 international students are enrolled in 7 Faculties and 60 departments, offering more than 50 degrees in all scientific areas. UA manages more than 2,000 academic and 1,200 administrative staff. 
Apart from ordinary lecturing, UA is also dedicated to promote E-learning and comprehensive online assistance to its students and staff. As the Internet has become an essential component in the contemporary learning and teaching, UA has equipped wireless internet connection in the whole campus so as to provide students an advanced environment. Furthermore, the Virtual Campus (CV) is a powerful tool to facilitate academic and administrative issues.  Through the CV, students can manage the course registration, tuition fee payment, grant application, course-related materials download.

Role in Project
The University of Alicante has a long experience in the domain of Quality Assurance and Quality Management. UA has participated to several projects on quality assurance and external evaluation. It has also a large expertise in self-assessment. UA provides the consortium with its knowledge and experience in the filed of quality assurance, self-assessment and, quality standards. The coordinator of quality assurance at the University will support the project in all aspects related to the definition of standards, to the self-assessment and, to the training of experts.
