Description
Lebanese University is the only public university among 43 higher educational establishments in Lebanon. It gathers now 13 faculties, four institutes and three doctoral schools and covers a field of specializations, which is the vastest in the country. The Lebanese University is the only university institution in Lebanon which deals with the public higher education. It is the largest university with 72000 students and about 50 sections distributed in all the Lebanese areas. The Lebanese University ensures currently 51 specializations distributed in several domains including social sciences, exact sciences, engineering, medical & health sciences, literature, arts, agronomic sciences, .Economy, Management,... About 2000 full time faculty members and 2000 part-time faculty members.

Role in Project
LU is a pool of expertise. It involves about 4000 faculty members in very diverse disciplines and specialities. LU as largest university in Lebanon and the only public university will certainly be subject of internal evaluation, and their faculty members will contribute in external evaluation of other Lebanese universities. Therefore, the participation of LU in this project is crucial and the training of its staff on quality assurance procedures is important.
